Antique daguerreotype of a man with Rieger’s Syndrome (a malformed iris that prevents light from entering pupil to retina); ground trinitite (glass formed during the first atomic test explosion, circa 1945, at the Trinity test site, when heat from the blast melted the surrounding sand); homemade paper (pulp made from cotton, military sheet music, crushed chrysanthemums, amino acids, and bone dust from every bone in the body); a Civil War soldier’s personal mirror; Civil War-era inkwell, black amber, mortician’s powder, nickel, iron, colloidal silver, rust, velvet, American porcupine quill, walnut, and glass.
