About the Film:

The Aorta of an Archivist is the second video in a trilogy that explores humanity’s observational limits—cosmological, physiological, and emotional—and how these limits influence our ability to love, empathize, and memorialize. Examining these boundaries, the video highlights four milestones in recording history: the discovery of the “unobservable universe”; the earliest recording of humans singing; the first recording of brain waves during a dream state; and the first time a human heartbeat was recorded while listening to music.

Commissioned by the Spencer Museum of Art, Lawrence, Kansas.
